"THe location was great, just a few blocks from the beach and downtown Avila. Great to have a garage to park in and the unit was spacious and very nice."

"We have stayed at this condo several times. This visit, June 2024, was to attend our son's graduation from Cal Poly. During the weekend, the rates were more than doubled (to $729/night). I understand that rates at most places are hiked up during this weekend, but doubling the nightly rate is unreasonable. On top of that, we were required to stay for 4 nights. However, we stayed here because the unit and location meets our needs and we would not miss graduation. When we got there, our garage entry code did not work. We got in touch with Ken, the manager, and he came fairly quickly which we appreciated. Apparently the power went out and deactivated the code. If the managers knew about that, I would have thought they would visit the unit and make sure everything was okay before we arrived. We also discovered that the garage remote did not work, but we managed. This unit is modern, clean and well-stocked. The extra pass for a 2nd parking spot is a bonus! The staff is pleasant and responsive on the phone and via text. Avila Beach is a lovely place to visit!"

"This is a beautiful and updated condo 2 blocks from
Avila beach. Big plus to have our own garage space and an additional space when our daughter joined us! It was easy to pack a couple of bags and walk to the beach. This condo does not have a view but it is quiet and met our needs."

"The balcony (Lanai) was not usable due to burweed. Our dog went out to balcony and always came back in full of burweed in his fur. Cleaning and weed control of balcony will help. The bar soaps provided are like a little puck on air-hockey table, they break easy - bring your own soap!
Otherwise property is nicely located, comfortable and we will not mind renting it out again!!"

"We had a fantastic time. The place was very roomy, clean, lots of light and perfect location. The owners provided so much to help enhance our stay. They really paid attention to detail. We did so much in the 10 days we were there. Went wine tasting in Paso Robles, saw the poppies, elephant seals, dog beach, sat on the Avila beach, hiking, golf right next door, farmers market, visited all the bars and restaurants less than 2 blocks away. Overall it was fun and relaxing and the best part of all is we got to bring our dog with us and she was welcomed everywhere,"

"Great location, unit, and overall a great trip. The unit is super clean, equipped with anything and everything, including a fun basket of books and toys for kids, a Keurig coffee machine, all the kitchen supplies, beach towels, boogie boards, sand toys, ect. New carpet and blinds, everything is fresh and clean, we love Avila and this a great option and reasonably priced based on the other units and Avila Lighthouse prices. Thank you! "The house is in a prime location. Walk a couple short blocks to beach for coffee, lunch, and walks on pristine beach. The place does have stairs up to kitchen and living area. Helps to get you in shape. House is equipped w beach chairs and towels and all basic necessities. No views as it’s over parking lot. Management company great when anything was wrong. Could use a little updating with living room, but nothing you can’t live with. We will be coming back. Also weather is perfect there in winter, nice fireplace. "

"From booking to check-in to check-out, this rental was perfect! Description of property was spot on, there were zero surprises upon arrival. Unit was spotless & check-in process was seamless. Management were great communicators & answered all of our questions. Only negative would be the view (of parking lot), but if you don't mind the block & a half walk to the beach, the view from the condo is a non-issue. We'll definitely be renting this unit again!"

Close to beach

"This location and rental was great. Only a few minutes walk to the beach and Front St. for restaurant and shops. The unit was very clean, had beach toys, chairs and towels. There was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen had all items we needed for the weekend. The large master bedroom and bathroom worked out great for us with our newborn. We are already planning to rent this unit again next year."

Great Unit, Location & Everything you Need

"We have stayed in this unit multiple times. Very clean, has everything you can possibly need including sand toys, beach chairs, kids games & books. Modern style, parking garage as well as outdoor parking and only a few blocks from the sand. San Miguel is quiet so you don't get the restaurant/bar noise from Front Street. This is a great spot. We love it!"

"Love the location, only 2 blocks from the beach, can’t beat it, it makes up for a few disappointing features. Love the parking accommodations. The two story structure is not for the elderly, be advised. Furnished with all cooking appliances. The rental itself is in need of a deep thorough cleaning. The carpet has many stains and looks soiled. The slider in bottom bedroom won’t lock. The screen has a huge tear. In the master BR, the shower has no water pressure and there is a very sharp edge near the drain, the toilet flushes very loudly and the vent over the bed, is covered with lint. The linen on both beds did not smell clean nor look clean, we washed it in the washer which works great and then we’re able to enjoy our sleep. The hand rails for using the stairs were extremely dirty with grime and dirt, it took one entire large Lysol canister of wipes to get it somewhat clean. We were awakened one night by the smoke detector chirping, so the maintenance man had to come the next day to replace all the smoke alarms.
As I said the location was great, so we just around all the other disappointments."

"My family had the best time at this rental location! The house was perfect. Tons of space, very clean and comfortable and in a great location. We will definitely be back!

The only thing we had an issue with was getting information for check-in. I was told we would get information at our check-in time at 4pm. I never received anything and had to call the office at 4:30 to get our codes to get into the home."

"We had an excellent extended stay in Avila Beach while working in the area.219 San Miguel met all of our needs and was convenient to beach as well as all the local shops. We continue to enjoy a nice view of the golf course across the street. Kitchen is very functional and well equipped. Furniture is comfortable too. We enjoyed the gas fireplace on the cool mornings as well as the garage for those few rainy days.Looking forward to another visit sometime in the future."

"We really enjoyed this property in Avila Beach. It is a short walk from the beach and is decorated nicely. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals.

This isn't a VRBO, though, it's managed by a vacation property company called Coastal Vacation Rentals. You need to go to their office, eight miles away in Pismo Beach to pick up a key. That is probably fine for most guests but was inconvenient for us. On the flip side, Coastal Vacation Rentals was responsive when we didn't find the pack and play in the unit that we had requested. They brought a new one to us on the same day.

When people walk on the hardwood floors of the kitchen/living room, above the master bedroom, it is loud. If everyone is going to bed at the same time, this won't be a problem for you."

"Firstly, this home is a few minutes walk to the beach and restaurants. It is a fantastic location.
Secondly, the pictures do not do this home justice. It has a very nice spacious master suite with a super comfy king bed. The upstairs ceilings are vaulted which gives the home a very airy spacious feel. The kitchen is wonderful! (Please get a kettle!!) living area is really comfortable too. We have a 7month old and this house was perfect for our family vacation.
There was only a few small downsides... there is construction ongoing next door and it can be a little noisy in the morning(7am). It didn't bother us too much as we are usually up and about at this time! Also collecting and dropping the keys in Pismo was a bit inconvenient as we were coming from the north.
Overall, the whole experience of renting this home was really good and We were delighted to find this beautiful home! We will be back.

"It was a beautiful weekend with unusually hot weather in Avila Beach. Our Condo was beautiful and immaculate! I loved the photos displayed on the inside of the cabinet doors showing where all the dishes should be replaced, including the pans. It also made it helpful for checkout. We had 3 couples in our group in which 2 couples stayed at the Condo and the other at a hotel nearby. By staying at the condo, we saved almost 1000.00 between 2 couples and it was great having all the comforts of home! The neighbors were very nice and helpful. We would stay again in a heartbeat!!"

"Had a very nice stay in Avila Beach. the condo was nicely appointed and very clean. the kitchen had most of the necessary equipment (would have liked a rubber spatula and liquid measuring cup) but had most things. 2 bedrooms, one upstairs and one down, entry is on the lower level and there are quite a lot of stairs in the unit. It's a short walk to the beach and restaurants (5 minutes) and very quiet at night. Daytime there is construction next door and behind so can be a bit noisy."

"Rental was near downtown, the beach,and close to the Bob Jones Biking/walking Trail which our family enjoyed. The inside of the condo was very nice (furniture and decor) and the kitchen was well appointed with everything you would need. Coastal Vacation Rentals was nice to call ahead to let us know there would be construction going on (building new condos next to ours), but I didn't even notice the noise except in one bedroom where our daughter had all the windows open. I definitely would rent this condo again."

"Lacks A/C and our visit occurred during the incredible recent heat wave. We knew it lacked A/C. We just didn't anticipate thet once in 50 years type heat. Other than that, the parking for 1 car is tight, but manageable, and the place is immaculate. This was our 2nd visit to this unit and we would do it again."

"The property is clean, modern, and very comfortable for a brisk weekend getaway. We comfortably had 6 people for 3 days, using the beautiful kitchen, biking is the area (garage had room for the bikes), and wine tasting. We previously stayed in another beautiful condo closer to the beach and this one is now our favorite. We'll be back. (Only caution is that the parking lot next door gets very busy..just plan ahead to avoid the traffic jams)"

"We really enjoyed our "girls weekend" stay here. The home is very nice and very clean. The master bedroom is downstairs with a large master bathroom. There was plenty of room for 2 of us to spread out and the large King bed was very comfortable. The upstairs bedroom is definitely smaller and the bathroom only has a pedestal sink with no counter or storage space. We only had 1 person staying upstairs so it worked out.

The location is great. Just a quick walk to get a great cup of coffee or evening cocktail.

Regarding getting the keys, it's a bit of a hassle to go to the office in Pismo beach to get and return the house keys. Wish there was a better way."

"We enjoyed our stay at Paul's Place, (219 San Miguel). The unit was well equipped and comfortable. Location was convenient walking distance to the beach and activities in downtown Avila, just enough distance to be out of the main flow. Nice view of Avila Beach golf course and the Avila Hills off the back balcony. Ceiling fans were important for us to keep the air moving on the few warm days while we were there. Nice large TV's with numerous channels to choose from. Especially nice garden area out the back patio. We loved the hummingbirds and butterflies. Only drawback for us was that our town car was a little too long to fit in the garage."

Great size, nice furniture, wonderfully appointed kitchen, nice linens,comfortable beds and very clean. The only one negative thing I can say about it is the BBQ is small and doesn't work very well. Other than that, it was a wonderful place to stay!! "

"Our family greatly enjoyed our recent stay at the San Miguel condo at Avila Beach. Paul has done a fantastic job of decorating and making the condo feel like home. The location is perfect--just a couple of blocks from the beach, shops and restaurants. It would have been helpful to have a few standard items such as an iron/ironing board, blow dryer, teapot, and alarm clock in master bedroom, but we managed without them. The kitchen appliances could have been cleaned better, but the bathrooms were very clean. The beds were very comfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend this property to others."
